Family Service, 2nd March 2008

Today the children from Jordan & Galilee groups (6-8 year olds), presented a drama of the message for Mothering Sunday.

The children explained how children used to go home on Mothering Sunday after visiting the mother church, normally the Cathedral. On the way they would gather flowers or take a cake called a Simnel Cake often provided by their employer. The children went on to look at all the ways that mothers provide love and care for us, they kept us all entertained with a quiz, posing questions of the congregation.

Following the presentation all mothers were brought to the front by their children (young and old) to collect a posy of daffodils. The service was thoroughly enjoyed by all who were there.
